  UK Ophthalmic Pharmacy Group

This is the entry page for the UK Ophthalmic Pharmacy Group Forum, a developing database of questions and responses of interest to pharmacists working in ophthalmic care

The U.K. Ophthalmic Pharmacy Group

The UKOPG was formed in 1994 to bring together Pharmacists involved in ophthalmic care to discuss matters of mutual interest, to develop their knowledge of the speciality, and to share experiences.

The group holds one day meetings in May and November at venues (usually hospitals) around the UK, with presentations from specialists in various fields of ophthalmology and a business meeting. We welcome Pharmacy Technicians and others with a professional interest in ophthalmic pharmacy to the presentations.

In 1998 UKOPG developed a communication forum for any member of the group to obtain or offer information on ophthalmic topics. This can be an extremely useful tool, as among the 60+ members of the group we have many hundreds of years’ experience in ophthalmology. In 2003 the Forum was hosted on the ‘EyeText’ website, which will assist in developing the database of questions and responses making it more readily accessible to members.

UKOPG is open to UK-based Pharmacy health care professionals with an involvement in ophthalmology and is free. Click here to apply for membership of UKOPG and to take advantage of the Forum (you must be a member of the eyetext.net website first). If you are based outside UK, please e-mail your details.
